Iouri
Belski, received B.Eng. and M.Sc. in Automation and
Electronics in 1981, and PhD degree in Physics in 1989
from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Dolgoprudny,
Russia).
Iouri spent over 12 years with "PHONON" Scientific
Research Institute, Moscow, Russia. As a Project
Leader and Project Deputy Leader he developed sensors,
piezo-acoustic, microelectronics and microwave devices.
He also worked with Russian-USA Joint Venture "TECOM",
as a Head of Department of Innovations. He is now
an academic with the School of Electrical and Computer
Engineering at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology,
Australia. Current research interests are in sensor
technology, acousto-optical devices, technology forecast
and technology management, new product development
and failure prevention.
Iouri received a number of R&D
grants totalling over $1,000,000. He is an author
of many research papers and has been granted over
30 patents. Utilisation of these patens resulted
in over $3,000,000 profits to the employers.
Iouri is an acknowledged TRIZ
expert. In recent years he was invited to speak to
many meetings and conferences. He runs TRIZ training
for companies and general public. Business Review
Weekly devoted an article to his work in 1999.
